The Story of We

The Book and Music CD

The Story of We is every person's story - about the beauty of life, the unplanned pursuit of a dream and the resilience of love.

With artists like Collin Raye, Linda Davis, Nathan Osmond, Bryan White, Dillon Dixon, Michael Curtis, Curtis Wright and notably Marty Raybon from Shenandoah singing these beautiful songs, they are instant classics.

The Book

He had a farm and dreams in Africa, but after tragedy strikes, everything crumbles. Nothing seems sure anymore-even his trust in God. He sets off for America, an unfamiliar country where he didn't even speak the language. With two young daughters and all they possessed in four suitcases, the three of them arrive in America with only hope.

There, they encounter angels in human form of all colors and kinds who cross their paths one by one, bringing them to an unexpected destiny that far surpasses his greatest hopes. The power of three-three dreams and three hearts-weaves a story of simple pleasures, everlasting hope and surprising candor that will encourage and inspire. Only in America.

The Music CD

The Story of We was written in 2011 to answer that age-old question, "How did you get here?" Then in 2013 we embarked on making a studio CD that had a song pairing with each chapter of the book. With great songs adopted for the book or written to perfectly mesh with a chapter, this pair is the perfect gift.

"These songs are songs that originated out of the emotions out of each chapter of the book. From a God to a Friend is the awakening inside the cab of a John Deere tractor. Some of the songs and melodies were born out of inspiration reading the book. Most of these songs depict the Story of We - you and me - same emotions, same feelings, same experiences or knowing that same special person."

REMINDER - Be kind and generous.
This book is a quick read about real people. I really enjoyed it in contrast to so much fiction that over protrays human struggle and non-fiction that is either boring or alarming. There's real tragedy and emotion, but a hopeful and positive feel to this story.

The take-away message for me was a reminder about how many people have helped me in the nick of time, and that I should really watch more closely for people who I might be able to help. About a year ago, my family helped someone and it turned out badly for us - this story inspired us to return to our kind and generous ways without reservation.

Read this book if you want to be inspired, help raise money for a good cause (proceeds help the developmentally challenged) and just enjoy an American dream story..
